Nestldown Wedding, Los Gatos: Olivia & Jacob

Nestldown wedding ceremony

It was a warm and gorgeous spring day in April when Olivia and Jacob got married at Nestldown in Los Gatos, CA. The photos start off with a sweet and intimate first look that the couple did in the woods above the ceremony site. I noticed right away how sweet and caring Jacob was with Olivia and how doing a first look calmed them both down and made them excited to move on to saying their vows during the ceremony. Olivia’s step-dad officiated the ceremony and at one point he pulled out long black bunny ears as a nod to their pet black bunny rabbit who was waiting for them at home. Holy smokes, I wish I had a transcript of Jacob’s vows that I could share with you. They were so poetic and caring and I got a bit teary eyed! There were a lot of damp eyes by the end of this wedding ceremony, I certainly wasn’t the only one.

This wedding was photographed in late April and I have to say that it felt pretty magical being at Nestldown in the springtime. The place was busting in color and life because there were SO MANY FLOWERS! Tulips, wisteria, rhodedendrons… you name a springtime flower and it was there.

Dinner was hosted on the lawn in front of the pond and it became a lovely evening with the moon shining bright overhead. During the speeches given at dinnertime I could see that Olivia and Jacob are very close with their families. When it came time for dancing these guys got down– and I mean everyone present! There was so much dancing, everyone was having a fantastic time. I loved how Olivia and Jacob spent most of the night dancing with each other and surrounded by a circle of their friends dancing with them and around them. It felt like a very special and joyous occasion indeed! Congratulations Olivia & Jacob! And many thanks to Natalie Ngo for supporting me as my second photographer for the day.

So freaking excited for these two! They kept it sweet and simple with a private elopement in San Francisco's golden gate park and they also had an enormous amount of luck when they planned to get married on Wednesday when we had a break in the rain here in the SF Bay Area. It was such a joy to capture this moment ❤️
Just going to put this here... my first attempt at putting myself in front of the camera! Everyone else is doing it so I'm giving it a shot now too.

This is from Christy & Dory's gorgeous wedding at Straus Home Ranch, in Marshall, CA. It is one of my favorite venues and this was a very special wedding. Even though this is a more serious moment there is tons of laughter that happens between these two. Christy has the most contagious laugh. I'm sure you'll be smiling when you take a peek. Check out the link in bio.

Enjoy fleet week San Francisco. Hope you enjoy it as much as this mother of the bride!

The most memorable moments are the unexpected ones. We were getting lined up for family photos when we could hear the blue angels starting up (very loudly) and flying overhead. Emily & Will got so lucky they didn't fly over while they were exchanging their vows and only started up just minutes after they said "I do."

Also when taking this photo I was disappointed for a split second that I didn't have a long close up lens on me so I could get a better photo of the planes, but then I realized my wide angle lens was perfect for allowing me to get everyone's reaction to the planes just before they zoomed out of frame.
