What to Expect

I would like to hear from you about your wedding so I can send my pricing info or a custom quote. For weekend weddings, my typical coverage starts with 8 hours of coverage by myself and a second photographer. Color-corrected, high-resolution downloads are always included. Engagement sessions, hardcover albums, additional hours, and rehearsal dinner coverage are also available. Read more about my process here.

I am more flexible with weekday weddings, weddings that occur in the slow season, or last-minute weekend weddings if I am still available. I like to know about your day, especially where your venue(s) are and how many guests you expect so I can send a quote for coverage without a second photographer, or for fewer than 8 hours if that is appropriate for your wedding. If you aren't sure, I can quickly help you determine how much coverage is best for your wedding on a call.

Let's Get this Party Started

I work with people who want to bask in the love of their partner and who can’t wait to get their closest friends and family together to celebrate. Sound like you? I want to hear from you.

Questions

After our consultation if we decide that working together is a good fit, I will send both of you a contract to sign and send an invoice for a 50% deposit.

It depends on the event. It usually takes 4-8 weeks to turn around edited wedding photos.

Definitely! We use your online wedding gallery to get started and I make the custom design for you. Albums are made with premium materials and hand built in the US. They are gorgeous!

Yup. I can provide a COI to your venue if required.

I’m a Canon girl. My first camera was my dad’s Canon from the 70’s and it continued from there. I have two full frame Canon cameras, 10 lenses and 2 flashes. The reason for all the gear is to make sure I am always prepared even if a lens or camera goes down during a shoot.

Basic coverage always includes an online gallery for your photos and a high resolution download. They are color corrected in my style, adjusted for exposure and ready to print.

Upon agreeing to work together I will send out a contract and invoice for a 50% retainer fee. Then I will reach out to you 6 weeks before the wedding to start planning. I will ask for your timeline, send you a link to a questionnaire, and we will set up a call 1-2 weeks before your wedding to go over everything.

I was originally moved by the work I saw that captured the human condition in a raw and unfiltered way. Great photographers like Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Diane Arbus, and Josef Koudelka, were very influential as I developed my eye. Though I don’t photograph the same subject matter as they did, I look for the same truth and beauty I find present in their work.

I started photographing professionally in 2010. I have photographed about 500 weddings by now!

Over 20 years! Oh boy, I can’t believe it’s been that long. My life has revolved around photography ever since I started developing my own black and white prints in the high school darkroom. After high school I traveled throughout Europe with my best friend and my camera, where I originally developed my photo-journalistic style. After that amazing experience I had a portfolio which got me into my dream college, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Since I am originally from California so I was eager to resettle on the west coast as soon as I could, which was in 2010.

I specialize in weddings, and I love photographing natural and candid moments. A wedding brings up so much emotion and excitement and I love capturing those unscripted moments. I also enjoy photographing events and portraits.

"Manali was a joy to work with, from the first call to the last picture. She is kind, calm, reassuring and a passionate photographer."

So freaking excited for these two! They kept it sweet and simple with a private elopement in San Francisco's golden gate park and they also had an enormous amount of luck when they planned to get married on Wednesday when we had a break in the rain here in the SF Bay Area. It was such a joy to capture this moment ❤️
Just going to put this here... my first attempt at putting myself in front of the camera! Everyone else is doing it so I'm giving it a shot now too.

This is from Christy & Dory's gorgeous wedding at Straus Home Ranch, in Marshall, CA. It is one of my favorite venues and this was a very special wedding. Even though this is a more serious moment there is tons of laughter that happens between these two. Christy has the most contagious laugh. I'm sure you'll be smiling when you take a peek. Check out the link in bio.

Enjoy fleet week San Francisco. Hope you enjoy it as much as this mother of the bride!

The most memorable moments are the unexpected ones. We were getting lined up for family photos when we could hear the blue angels starting up (very loudly) and flying overhead. Emily & Will got so lucky they didn't fly over while they were exchanging their vows and only started up just minutes after they said "I do."

Also when taking this photo I was disappointed for a split second that I didn't have a long close up lens on me so I could get a better photo of the planes, but then I realized my wide angle lens was perfect for allowing me to get everyone's reaction to the planes just before they zoomed out of frame.
