Dan & Alicia had been engaged for a few months and were trying to figure out how they would like to celebrate their wedding when suddenly they realized it was going to be difficult to get everyone together in a few months and that all of their loved ones were all going to be together for the holidays so why not throw a New Year’s Eve wedding in their beautiful home in Larkspur? So then they pulled together a beautiful ceremony in 3 weeks! You can bet I was super surprised to receive a phone call the night before I left for Colombia for Christmas vacations that they wanted me to photograph their 12/31/2016 wedding, when I thought I had already photographed my last of the year!
The ceremony was very touching. They incorporated the Hawaiian tradition of exchanging leis, and they incorporated Jewish traditions as well such as standing under a chuppah that was held by their 4 children, each having 2 from previous relationships, and the grand finale of stomping on a glass after the ceremony! It was a lovely way to send off 2016 and welcome in 2017!
