On a lovely day in spring Amber & Yael celebrated their wedding at the Officers’ Club in the Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco. Amber & Yael have a really beautiful and tender connection where they constantly make each other laugh so it was an absolute pleasure to spend the day in their presence. It was also a delight to be a part of the dancing and joyous good time that followed in the evening after the ceremony and dinner.
We started with a first look for the couple under the shade of towering eucalyptus trees at Lover’s Lane, nearby to the venue. Fun fact: it’s called Lovers’ Lane because soldiers in the 18th century would often take this path to visit their lovers!
They had a Jewish ceremony under a chuppah downstairs in the Officers’ Club Ballroom. The ceremony was beautiful and I loved when they invited the women who have been very meaningful in their lives up to join them under the chuppah for prayer and a shared hug.
One of my favorite moments was when they cut the cake, and no I don’t normally say that because most cake cuttings are so alike that they don’t stand out as memorable to a seasoned wedding photographer. What I loved about their moment was that they fed each other cake at the same time and both instantly broke out into a spontaneous happy dance as they tasted how delicious the cake was– as if it were planned but it wasn’t. In that sweet moment it showed how connected they are. These these two and their guests know how to have a good time and the party was a blast for everyone!
