Outdoor Art Club Wedding, Mill Valley: Kelly + Phil

Get ready for a lot of beauty! The stars of our blog post today, the lovely Kelly & Phil, had a beautiful fall wedding at the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley, CA. Kelly looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. It is so unique, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. And Phil looked sharp in his blue suit too.

We began with their first look in Old Mill Park where we took some sweet portraits of the two of them as they got excited about the rest of the day ahead. Before their ceremony they signed their ketubah, the traditional Jewish marriage contract, as close friends and family looked on. And then it was time for the beautiful outdoor ceremony with a cluster of tall redwoods towering high above them. They had a gorgeous chuppah that was hand knit by the bride’s mother and also stood in as a beautiful flower arbor, designed by the ever so talented Ha Rue Floral Design.

There’s lots of beautiful wedding inspiration to oohh and ahh over so I made sure to include lots of pretty details. Kelly and her wedding planner Satra really did a wonderful job, balancing colors and textures. Check it out for yourself! It’s also so easy to see that Kelly and Phil are just adorable together and share a special connection that is worth celebrating.

Congrats to the lovebirds on a wonderful wedding!

And congrats to their great team who helped bring the day together:

As Natalie opened the door to do a first look with her groom, her two besties walked up and screamed with excitement when they saw their gorgeous friend. The groom listened to all of the commotion going on behind him while he patiently waited for his turn to see his beautiful bride next for their first look.

My guide for couples planning a wedding at San Francisco City Hall has been fully updated for 2026!

A heads up if you're planning a civil ceremony: at some point last year City Hall changed when they release these appointments, which was confusing for couples. But I lay it all out on the blog so you can be prepared.

Here’s what you’ll find in this guide:

- The different types of ceremonies SF city hall offers and what to expect
- Advice on when to schedule your ceremony (day of the week and time of day)
- Questions for you to consider to help you plan a whole wedding day that suits you well
- Tips on transportation to and from city hall
- Recommendations for where to stay for out-of-town couples

Enjoy!
Three things to know about getting married at San Francisco City Hall

• You can pick up a marriage license from any county in California. Just make sure it is within 90 days of your date
• The best light and my favorite portrait location is on the 4th-floor North balcony
• San Francisco City Hall’s best kept secret: Did you know you can get married at SF City Hall without making a wedding appointment? You just need to hire your private officiant, and I can help you plan a wedding like this.
