Anna & Sam got married on a beautiful warm summer’s day at Villa Montalvo, also known as Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, CA. I am so excited to share this wedding, the couple were so lovely and the everything was gorgeous. Things started off feeling very celebratory as Anna got ready with close friends, her sister and the two moms. I loooved her timeless dress. It’s so elegant and it suited both Anna and the elegance of the venue.
We started things off with a first look on the grand staircase between Anna & Sam. They were so excited to see each other and I love how to moody directional light coming through the large stained glass window heightened the romantic energy of the moment. One of my favorite photos is the black and white kissing picture on the stairs. Then we did wedding party and family photos under shade outside the Villa.
There is a long walk all the way down to the Italian Gardens where the ceremony was held and everyone looked stunning as they made their way down between the tall rows of trees. Anna’s brother officiated the ceremony and you can see how moved he is in the photos. There’s one picture where Sam is admiring his bride and you can see her brother wiping away a tear as she takes her place next to Sam for the ceremony. They also did something really nice during the ceremony that I always love when I see people doing this. Her brother told the couple to take a moment to gaze out at their guests and take in the special moment while it was happening. It slows down time and it must feel amazing to take in the faces of their excited guests while they stand up there in front of them.
Another cute thing to look out for in the photos is the custom napkins. That was Anna & Sam’s way of bringing their cats into the day with them in spirit. I thought it was really cute. It looked like people were really enjoying themselves in the beautiful courtyard during cocktail hour. Don’t miss how gorgeous the dinner set up looked on the veranda of the house that looks out on the lawn. I loved the gold plates, gold flatware and blush tablecloths. It was the perfect understated and elegant summer wedding set up.
Please make sure to scroll to the end so you can see just how amazing their bubble exit was! It turned out so well and ended with them in a gorgeous old limo that I would guess is from the 1940’s, though I’m no expert! Enjoy the photos.
