Navarro Redwoods Wedding, Mendocino: Vivian + Evan

Can you think of anything more romantic than running away to a towering redwood forest to exchange your wedding vows in front of just a handful of your nearest and dearest loved ones? Vivian & Evan made their dream Mendocino wedding a reality by doing exactly that. They started with a sweet and intimate first look and before holding their ceremony in the Navarro Redwoods State Park of California, off of Highway 128. Evan’s dad officiated the ceremony as they stood under the majestic trees together in a beautiful patch of light. The whole affair struck a quiet intimate tone amongst the splendor of the setting.

My favorite moment occurred right after the ceremony. They were so excited about their rings that they immediately showed them off to their families. Vivian and Evan had taken a class and learned how to forge their bands themselves out of copper. They turned out beautifully! There’s a close up towards the end of the photos that you can check out for yourself. After the ceremony, it was time to move on to the coast where Vivian & Evan rented an Airbnb with stunning vistas of California’s rugged coastline at sunset.

To cap off the celebration they returned to San Francisco four days later to host a larger, yet still small and relaxed reception at the Stable Cafe in the Mission. The Stable Cafe has a charming patio and is a lovely space to host a party or wedding. The patio is overflowing with beautiful plants and it almost feels like you are in nature, rather than in the middle of a busy part of the city. It’s no wonder that these low-key nature lovers chose it for their reception. I loved how Vivian’s grandmother carefully went around and inspected all of the plants. I even caught a photo of her doing so. I adored my time with this lovely couple and their friends and families, please enjoy the photos below.

Vivian and Evan had a wonderful wedding celebration with the help of these talented vendors:

So freaking excited for these two! They kept it sweet and simple with a private elopement in San Francisco's golden gate park and they also had an enormous amount of luck when they planned to get married on Wednesday when we had a break in the rain here in the SF Bay Area. It was such a joy to capture this moment ❤️
Just going to put this here... my first attempt at putting myself in front of the camera! Everyone else is doing it so I'm giving it a shot now too.

This is from Christy & Dory's gorgeous wedding at Straus Home Ranch, in Marshall, CA. It is one of my favorite venues and this was a very special wedding. Even though this is a more serious moment there is tons of laughter that happens between these two. Christy has the most contagious laugh. I'm sure you'll be smiling when you take a peek. Check out the link in bio.

Enjoy fleet week San Francisco. Hope you enjoy it as much as this mother of the bride!

The most memorable moments are the unexpected ones. We were getting lined up for family photos when we could hear the blue angels starting up (very loudly) and flying overhead. Emily & Will got so lucky they didn't fly over while they were exchanging their vows and only started up just minutes after they said "I do."

Also when taking this photo I was disappointed for a split second that I didn't have a long close up lens on me so I could get a better photo of the planes, but then I realized my wide angle lens was perfect for allowing me to get everyone's reaction to the planes just before they zoomed out of frame.
