Kinne & Chas had a grand affair at the Old Mint in San Francisco for their wedding. They took this cool historic building with beautiful high ceilings, brick walls galore, old vaults and money making machinery from the 1800’s and dressed it up with elegant florals and decor, to host a fabulous fête!
Kinne and Chas live together in San Francisco but they both hail from the East Coast. They had many friends and family fly in from around the country and around the world to attend their celebration. Several years ago, I had the experience of living in Boston for 5 years from 2004 to 2009. It’s a city filled with history and beautiful old buildings reminiscent of the Mint, and I wonder if choosing this venue was their nod to the East Coast while having an SF wedding.
Kinne & Chas have a pretty great story of how they met and they tied that into their wedding in two different ways, one very sweet and the other, quite hilarious. They met by attending a mutual friend’s party in Boston, and they asked that mutual friend to officiate at their wedding. He did a wonderful job and managed to strike a perfect balance between having a moving ceremony with lighthearted moments woven in. The other part of the story to how Kinne & Chas met, is that at that party everyone was doing whiskey slaps. A whiskey slap is where you take a shot of whiskey and a friend or a stranger, will kindly slap you in the face as the chaser. And this, funnily enough, is how Kinne & Chas met, so later in the evening they passed out shots of whiskey and invited their guests to join in the fun!
Something else you won’t be able to miss as you look through the photos is their adorable little pup, Stevie. She makes her way into a quite a few pics below. Additionally, a favorite moment that I enjoyed during their wedding was their first dance. They spend a lot of time listening to music and going to shows together and that was evident when they belted along to their first dance song as they held each other. It was pretty cute!
Congrats Kinne & Chas, on a marvelous day!
